    The most common method of manufacturing aluminum plank grating is through a process known as pressure locking. Pressure locked grating as defined by the NAAMM Metal Bar Grating Manual is "Grating in which the cross bars are mechanically locked to the bearing bars at their intersections by deforming or swaging the metal." Corrosion resistant, non-sparking, non-rusting and virtually maintenance free, Aluminum Plank Grating is commonly used in sewage and water treatment plants for walkways and platforms. Punched plank products offer excellent air circulation desirable for refrigeration floors and ceilings, as well as marine cargo holding systems. Available with plain or interlocking sides, these modular planks are easily fabricated into custom component panels with the simple addition of end banding. For enhanced skid resistance on the walking surface, specify plank with upset punched square or rectangular patterns.
