Description:

YL-504 Sole scouring machine has a grinding wheel for smoothing the edges of soles and heels of shoes is provided with a single guide element which is adjustably mounted immediately, adjacent to the scouring wheel and engages the crease between the heel or sole and the upper. The guide element is an accurate member, which can be adjusted axially and radically with respect to the scouring wheel. Axial adjustment is provided either by means of a hub of the guide element, which is slayable on and adapted to be clamped to a mounting bolt or by means of a tubular extension telescopically slidable on the mounting bolt and provided with a longitudinal slot through which a set screw passes to clamp the guide to the mounting bolt.; The mounting bolt is secured to a mounting plate which has a radially extending elongated aperture through which the bolt passes before screwing into a nut, thus permitting the bolt and also the guide element to be adjusted in the radial direction; Alternatively radial adjustment can be achieved by a radially extending projection preferably of dovetailed shape and slidable along a guide member, that mounted on the mounting plate, or on the side wall of the shoe scouring machine, which is housing in machines of the type wherein the said wall is closely adjacent the scouring wheel. The alternative form of radial adjustment can be combined with the axial adjustment by inserting the slidable joint of above between the guide element and the tubular part or hub. The guide element may be of steel or plastic such as one with a polyamide base.
